Well its been a good start to a new year I can defiantly say that! As you can see its been a busy, so busy that I havnt had time to sit down and write in a while ( 4 months almost)
Iv been working in the studio and studying as usual. Iv been working on a lot of portrait and commercial assignments. Learning some airbrushing and editing techniques. Iv decided that im going to start a vlog, where il record the set, my models and myself! This summer I'll be travelling around the states, Im planning to hit up Nashville, North Carolina, Florida, and im really hoping New York. Im planning to shoot a lot of landscapes when im there, but im also thinking of doing some on location fashion shots. Heres some of what iv been working on so far!
This is the first portrait I did, inspired by Annie Leibovitz, for my colour assignment.
This was a self portrait of myself using, using curves to bring up the flat reddish contrast.
For my commercial class, one week we had to shoot a watch, this was shot for Fossil:
Next assignment was for electronics, i decided to choose an Ipod:
More to come.. with vlogs too :)

Over the last Month
This last month has been absolutely crazy! iv been working on 11 projects and 10 exams, absolutely nuts! But I finally finished last Friday ( haven't even had time to blog lol). After I finished school, I continued going to work, no stopping me lol! Today has been my first official day off of both school and work so i thought id share some of the projects i have been working on!
For my design class, we had to recreate an advertisement we saw in the magazine. I chose to recreate a Kahlua advertisement, it was even better when i celebrated the successful shot with..shots lol.
For my portrait class we were learning butterfly lighting, they use this a lot with celebrities.
And you cant have all work and now play.. So in between shooting for assignments, we decided to have a little fun of our own! hahah :P
More to come!...

Portrait
So this week I have been working on custom white balancing. When you shoot in auto outside, sometimes the shot tends to come out a bit blue. When customizing your white balance, the shat had a much warmer tone. So these are a few of my shots i did for my assignments.
And the last shot....

And the last shot....
By using vignetting I was able to create that cool glowing effect around the subject.
So that was this weeks portrait update. Il be posting what we were working on in commercial in a few days, and some shots of the studio for everyone :)

In the Studio
So today iv been working in the studio to shoot glass. Its actually a lot harder than i expected, you cant just take a picture of the glass, you actually have to create a black cardboard cut out and place it behind the glass. This produces the black line you see around the glass, and of course the black cardboard is in the way meaning you got some editing to do. So this is a pic of the original glass...
So i originally thought this was good... until I saw it on the computer, this is what glass would originally look like.
This was the black cardboard cut that I put around this glass, this would give the nice slim black lines around the glass.
And this was the final product. tadaa! lol

Welcome to the neighbourhood
Well its about time! For the past year iv wanted to create a blog, telling about my life, showing my experiences, and especially my photographs. My name is Andrew Cretaro and I am a photographer. A bit about me, besides the fact that im a photographer, I really enjoy commercial photography and hope to get into that field, as well id like to do a bit of fashion as well. I do some acting on the side, iv been on degrassi, and i model as bit as well. Nothing really that exciting but I want to get out what im doing in more than 140 characters on twitter lol. anyways, this is a photo of me, il be posting my daily shootings on set. If anything sparks an interest, send me a message! :)
